writing on the stall

While sitting in neighboring stalls and reading each other what our respective stall had to tell we realized how entertaining and universal stall writing is. We became curious … what compels one to whip out a pen or marker or lipstick even and write your very own message? Boredom? Insight? Anger? Love? 5 beers? WHO CARES! Also of interest is the idea that we only have one perspective when it comes to bathroom stalls… for us it’s the female one.. what is the boys bathroom like??? are their stall writings very different or surprisingly similar.. hmmmm
